LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly breakfast meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Ramada Inn Conference Center.
A panel of local employers, all recipients of the Healthy Androscoggin Award, will discuss the benefits of creating a healthy workplace. Panelists will include Darlene Thompson of Tambrands/PG, nutrition consultant Jennifer Willey of Canteen Services and Dawna Hannan, director of human resources and regulatory affairs at Oxford Networks.
The 2005 Healthy Androscoggin Awards will be presented at the meeting. Healthy Androscoggin received 34 applications from local businesses and organizations. Jessica Balkum of Healthy Androscoggin said the Lewiston-based organization began promoting healthy workplaces in 1999 with its “Work Smoke Free” campaign.
The chamber breakfast, sponsored by the Sun Journal, will be at 7:15 a.m. at the Ramada Inn, 490 Pleasant St. Chamber members in the Spotlight include Manpower, Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care, Computel Solutions, ERA Worden Realty, BIZ Solutions Inc. and WGME 13.
Early registration is recommended. The breakfast is $13 for members, $18 at the door and $20 for nonmembers. People can make reservations by calling the chamber at 783-2249.
