CANTON – A Sweetheart Dance will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Canton Fire Station, Route 140, to help raise monies for Patrick Libby of Livermore to go to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., in March to compete in the National Country Music Finals.

There will be a snack bar, 50/50 drawing and raffles. Admission will be $7 a person; under age 6, free.

The event will feature Maine country music musicians and entertainers, including Maine Country Music Hall of Famer Ginger Mae Dyer, Jim Palmer, Dell Parker, Shawna Edwards, Lolalee, Lillian Wright, the Thibodeau Brothers and Dick Moreau and friends.

Libby, 16, won Down East Country Music Association award for male vocalist in his age group when he was 15 last spring. He is a student at Livermore Falls High School.
