A chocolate chip cookie recipe on Wednesday’s page C14 should have included 2/3 cup of shortening. The recipe incorrectly included an extra 2/3 cup of sugar.

The full, correct recipe for Blanche’s chocolate chip cookies is:

2/3 cup shortening

2/3 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups chocolate chips (any kind)

1 cup chopped walnuts

Mix all ingredients well into one bowl. Then, use a 2-ounce scoop to make nice-sized cookies. Bake in a 325-degree oven for 12 to 14 minutes. Because of the shortening and butter, you do not need to grease the cookie sheets.
