AUBURN – The wedding of Denise M. Cote and Steven G. Simard was held at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 23 at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Kevin Martin officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Simard is the daughter of Roger and Madeleine G. Cote of Greene. Mr. Simard is the son of Eleanor Simard of Auburn and the late Fernand Simard.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin and lace floor-length gown, long sleeves, sequins and pearls on the gown and a train. A tiara supported her elbow-length veil, which is a family heirloom, and she carried a bouquet, hand-made by her daughter, Jessica Machia, consisting of silk blue morning glories, yellow primroses, cream roses and baby’s breath.

Diane McIntire attended as matron of honor for her sister and Jessica Machia, daughter of the bride, was bridesmaid.

Performing the duties of best man for his brother was David Simard and Brad Malo, cousin of the bridegroom, was usher.

A reception followed at the Hilton Garden Inn Riverwatch in Auburn, after which the couple traveled to Jamaica. They are residing in Minot.

The bride is a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Trinity College of Burlington, Vt. She also received a master’s degree in accounting from Vora Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She is employed at Panolam Industries International, Pioneer Plastics, in Auburn.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Edward Little High School and attended Maine Maritime Academy in Castine. He also received a master’s degree from Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., and is employed at Regional Waste Systems in South Portland.
