AUBURN – The Maine Jaycees will hold an After-Work Reception and Lewiston/ Auburn Jaycee informational meeting night at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Auburn Lanes Bowling. The reception is for anyone 18 to 40 who wants to meet a group of young people.

Representatives from the Maine Jaycees, Augusta Area Jaycees and the soon-to-be Lewiston/Auburn Jaycees will be on hand to discuss the benefits of membership.

VFW ceremony

LISBON – VFW Post 9459 and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the post home, Route 196. A ceremony, “Remembering the Maine,” will be held before the meeting.

The House Committee will meet at 6 p.m. The agenda will include continuing support for the troops, discussion of post home repairs and future activities. New members are welcome. Anyone wanting more information can call 353-4879 and leave a message.

Planning meeting

MONMOUTH – Monmouth youth baseball/softball will hold the season planning meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Monmouth Academy cafeteria. Many decisions will be made at the meeting.

AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve (SHARE), part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will hold Distribution Day from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, Whitney Street entrance.

Registrations for March will be taken also. New and former participants in the program are welcome. For more information, people can call Janet at 784-2164.

Course slated

LEWISTON – The Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing will offer a 10-week medical terminology course beginning March 23.

The classes will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays at the CMMC School of Nursing, 70 Middle St. There will be no class meeting on May 28.

The non-credit course will be taught by Peggy Young, RN. A fee, which includes the cost of the textbook, will be charged. For more information or to register, people can call the school at 795-2858 or email jacqueka@cmhc.org.

New location

LISBON FALLS – The new location for Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry and Clothing Bank is the Marion T. Morse Center, School Street, on the Berry Street side. They are handicap accessible.

The outreach also has medication loan and fuel assistance forms available. The hours for the Food Pantry and Clothing Bank are 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. There is also a collection bin for clothing.

The clothing bank and food pantry are available to residents of Lisbon, Durham and Bowdoin. Two forms of ID will be required for the food pantry. For more information, residents should call their local representative or the town office in Lisbon, Bowdoin or Durham.

Jekyll and Hyde’

MONMOUTH – Monmouth Community Players will present the hit Broadway musical by Leslie Bricusse and Frank Wildhorn, “Jekyll and Hyde,” on March 18 to 20 and 24 to 26 at Cumston Hall. Lucy Rioux returns as director, and musical direction will be by Art Fitzgerald. Tickets may be reserved by calling 933-9999.
