SOUTH PARIS – The director of the Maine Forest Service and a forest ranger will be the guest speaker at Thursday’s meeting of the western Maine chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine. It will be held at 7 p.m. at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Room 118, which is just off the cafeteria.
Alec Giffen will focus on upcoming legislation and pending issues that could affect small woodlot owners. Forest Ranger Brad Bucknell will discuss timber theft, timber trespass and enforcement of various forestry laws.
