LACONIA, N.H. (AP) – A 27-year-old man has been convicted of negligent homicide in a crash that killed a Meredith woman in 2003.

The Belknap County Superior Court jury found Steven Aguiar of Laconia was responsible for causing the death of Nicole Gray, 26, because he was driving under the influence of a prescription anti-anxiety medication.

He faces up to 15 years in prison.

His lawyer argued that Aguiar lost control of his car because Gray grabbed the steering wheel.

Ex-police chief back behind bars

BARTLETT, N.H. (AP) -After dealing with a personal tragedy, the former police chief is back behind bars.

Bob Snow, convicted of stealing money from the town, was let out of prison last fall to care for his wife, who was dying of cancer. Kathy Neally-Snow died Jan. 31.

20 rabbits bagged, left on doorstep

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Police are trying to figure out who stuffed 20 rabbits into a duffel bag and left them on someone’s doorstep.

Police said a resident answered a knock at his door last week and found the bag.

The rabbits appeared to be healthy and were taken to the city animal shelter.
