OXFORD – An Oxford Area Community Blood Drive will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 26, at the American Legion Post 112, 112 King St., South Oxford.

It is the Eagle Scout Project of Brian Robinson of Poland. Those wanting more information or to make an appointment should call Robinson at 998-3212 or the American Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743. A valid ID is required.

Sledding party

LEWISTON – The Downtown Neighborhood Association will hold its fifth annual Winterfest Sledding Party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Knox Street Hill, corner of Birch and Bates streets. Past presidents

OXFORD – The Past Presidents Club of the Frank W. Hulett Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Auxiliary met at the home of Lucille Ray on Feb. 2.

Members worked on centerpieces for the state convention banquet that will be held at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston in June. A lunch was served by the hostess after the meeting.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 2, at the home of Ellen Broas.

Seniors lunch

MONMOUTH – The Monmouth Golden Age Seniors will meet at noon Wednesday, March 2, for a potluck lunch at the Packard Community Center.

There will be a business meeting following the dinner, and all officers are to make their annual reports. Nomination of new officers will also be held.

The plans for summer trips will be discussed and the loss of bus service will be a factor in making plans for the rest of the year. Members are asked to attend.

Legion to meet

LISBON FALLS – Nelson-Conley Post 66, American Legion, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the Slovak Meeting Room, Avery Street. All members, prospective members and active duty personnel are invited to attend.

Seniors meeting

AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Members should take their bag lunches and cups. There will be no raffle, but the annual food auction will take place after lunch.

At the Feb. 16 meeting, several new members were welcomed: Louise Chabot, Philip Cyr, Harry Dixon, Wallace Dixon, Viola Dumais, Anita Nadeau, Helen McGuire, Jean Moody and Evelyn Sawin.

A king and queen were chosen in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Ralph Lashua and Betty Hebert were crowned by last year’s king and queen, Gerry Timberlake and Theresa Greenleaf.

Attendance winners were Joan Dechene and Doris Michael; pot of gold, Martha Goodwin, Gerry Brushwein and Felix Yurkston. A Valentine luncheon was served followed by bingo.
