LEWISTON – Rachel Desgrosseilliers, executive director of Museum L-A, will be the speaker at a meeting of La Survivance Francaise at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Desgrosseilliers will talk about the Museum of Work and Labor that has been developed in the area and its future plans. Some of the aspects to be presented will be the history and preservation of textile mills, shoe shops and brick-making, as well as architectural wonders of the area.

She will present the opportunities for education of local and surrounding schools and groups concerning the work done by their ancestors, as well as opportunities for organizational groups to visit the existing museum with its ongoing exhibits. A review will be given of the Oral History Project for mill workers that has just begun.

Desgrosseilliers will also present the museum/art cooperative venture concept that is being developed for the area. A question and answer period will follow.
