ANKARA, Turkey – The wedding of Sabire Senay Yaman and Jesse Richard Simoneau was held at 9 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the Buyykhanli Park Hotel in Ankara, Turkey. Gyup Sen officiated at the ceremony. A Turkish wedding was held with over 280 in attendance.

The bridegroom’s parents, his aunt, Sharon Chicoine and cousin, Emily Bourassa, were able to join them for the ceremony. A reception was also given on Oct. 2 at Eli’s Restaurant in Turner. Seven of the bride’s family members were able to join them.

Mrs. Simoneau is the daughter of Yilmaz and Zuhal Yaman of Ankara, Turkey. Mr. Simoneau is the son of Rick and Lisa Simoneau of Jay.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Ankara University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She was employed at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara as a non-immigrant visa fraud specialist before coming to the U.S.

The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Jay High School and is a staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is an undergraduate of Northeastern University in Boston, studying international affairs as part of the Marine Corps enlisted commissioning education program.

The couple is living in Malden, Mass., and they are planning a honeymoon to Walt Disney World in February.
