RUMFORD – The 14th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake fund-raiser for mentoring programs in the River Valley Community will be held on Saturday, April 16, at Oxford Lanes.

This is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. During Bowl for Kids’ Sake sponsors and bowlers raise funds to match children with a Big Brother or Big Sister in area towns.

Prizes and awards will be available to participants, including a grand prize drawing. For every $100 a bowler raises he will have the opportunity to enter the grand prize drawing and become eligible to win a 42-inch plasma TV.

Big Brothers Big Sisters encourages anyone interested in helping to make a difference in the life of a child to organize, join or sponsor a bowling team. Each team member raises advance contributions from family, friends, co-workers and employers to help provide hundreds of annual Big Brother Big Sister mentoring matches in the communities.

Many sponsors from area businesses provide support in levels from $100 to $2,500 and up in cash or in-kind contributions.

To participate in the event, contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at 743-7035 and ask for Pam Murphy, director of youth development, or e-mail bbbs@megalink.net, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County is a program of the Child Health Center.
