FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Health and Fitness Center will host the annual Community Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5. It is free and the public is invited. The Fitness Center is located at 152 Quebec St. Those attending are advised to go dressed to participate.

The fair will offer a variety of free introductory fitness classes, free health screenings and information provided by area health care professionals. It will also include a variety of interactive wellness activities presented by UMF students.

Different programs will be highlighted throughout the day, including general facility tours, tours designed to orient guests to the facility’s fitness equipment, an array of aerobic classes (in the field house and in the water) and demonstrations of the facility’s low and high rope courses.

In addition, UMF students will conduct various wellness activities, and the center multi-purpose courts will host area businesses and health care professionals who will provide free screenings and information related to health and wellness.

The event is on one of the center’s free Saturdays. On the first Saturday of every month, the public is invited to enjoy the center’s facilities at no charge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
