AUBURN – The Small Business Institute at Central Maine Community College will offer two courses to assist small business owners during March.

A workshop, “Quality and Your Customers” (SBI 017-01), will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays, March 10 and 17. Cost of the six-hour workshop is $95.

“Legal Structure for Business” (SBI 026-01) will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, March 11. Cost of the workshop is $55.

“The customer is the single most important ingredient to success in business,” said Ken O’Brien, presenter of “Quality and Your Customers.” “A customer wants to deal with a business that is responsive, caring, knowledgeable and flexible. Meet these criteria and business increases.”

The workshop will help participants think “customer” whenever they make a decision or establish a policy. O’Brien is a business consultant and trainer for the college.

In the second workshop, participants will learn the differences between sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, and LLC. Discussion will focus on the most significant distinctions of each business form, as well as basic liability. The session will be presented by Bob Kasputes of the Small Business Development Center.
