PARIS – A Bridgton couple pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges related to the theft of more than $10,000 from a Denmark business during a two-year period.
June S. Cross, 35, and Darren J. Cross, 40, of 4 Mount Henry Road were arraigned Thursday in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris. Both were indicted on Feb. 17 by an Oxford County grand jury.
According to her indictment, June Cross was charged with Class B felony theft for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from McBurnie Oil Co. and owner Dale J. McBurnie between June 2002 and Aug. 2004.
Darren Cross was charged with receiving stolen property, a Class C felony, for allegedly receiving McBurnie property valued in excess of $1,000, despite reportedly knowing it had been stolen, his indictment stated.
The couple remain free on personal recognizance bail. A court date has not been set.
