PARIS – Community Concepts will host a number of father and child events in March and April.

A cross-country skiing and snowshoeing adventure (with surprises) will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the Bethel Inn Cross Country Ski Center in Bethel.

Snow tubing will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Black Mountain in Rumford.

On Saturday, April 2, an afternoon of bowling and pizza for dads and children will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Oxford Hills Bowling Lanes. Space is limited, and reservations need to be made.

All activities are free and open to the public. Call 583-2803 to sign up for an event, leaving name, phone number and number of people attending.

Community Concepts staff said research on healthy child development agrees: children who have positive, consistent, nurturing involvement with their fathers tend to have greater success in school, to experience fewer social and emotional problems and to grow up with stronger, more durable self-esteem.

One father who participated recently in a Community Concepts Dads Come Play event said, “It’s great to spend time outdoors with my kids.” Another added, “The thing I liked best about this activity was seeing my child so happy.” And another dad said, “I love to spend time alone with my son.”
