The first movie will be “Les Tisserands du Pouvoir,” the Weavers with Courage. The second film will be shown on March 23 and will be part two of the same film. It is the story of a typical Franco-American immigrant family who came to the U.S. to find work and a better life for themselves.

It shows the struggles and hard times of a family making the move to work in the mills of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The thousands of immigrants who came to New England to find work represent the history of what the Lewiston-Auburn immigrants went through and how they settled in their “Petit Canada” neighborhoods.

The showings will be held on the upper level of the Franco Center.
