MEXICO – Oressa V. Duguay of Mexico has been named Miss Teen River Valley International and will represent the area in the Miss Teen Maine International Competition on Sunday, April 3, at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center.

Duguay is the daughter of Nance L. Duguay of Mexico and Gary W. Howard of Fayetteville, N.C., and has recently graduated from high school six months ahead of schedule. She graduated from Sonshine Academy with honors in December 2004.

Her hobbies include dance, mudding, camping, kayaking and designing outfits for herself and her niece, Whitney. Her evening wear was designed by Oressa Originals and made by Ruth Daniel of Roxbury.

Duguay has been accepted to fashion design and marketing colleges from Toronto, Ontario, to London and Long Beach, Calif.

She is active at the Greater Rumford Community Center and has been an assistant dance instructor under Billie Jo Lawton since age 14. She loves to volunteer at the Mexico Free Store.

The areas of competition are personal interview (40 percent of score), evening gown (20 percent), fashion fun wear (20 percent) and aerobic wear (20 percent). The winner of the Miss Teen International 2005 title will take home a prize package valued at $10,000 and will represent Maine at the Miss Teen International competition in Chicago, Ill.
