MEXICO – The Mexico Fire Department is making plans for a community calendar, and members are looking for birthdays, anniversaries, in memory of and in service from residents.
The firefighters will collect the names and dates in drop boxes. There will be boxes at Mexico One Stop, Dick’s Restaurant, Maddy’s, Puiia Lumber Co., Wal-Mart and the Mexico Town Hall. The boxes will be at these locations from Sunday, March 27, to Saturday, April 9.
Anyone may also stop at the Mexico Fire Station with names and dates.
The department will also look for local businesses to advertise on the calendar. Space for advertising will be limited and it will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
It will also be a fire prevention calendar with daily fire prevention tips. The calendars will be available later this year. Anyone with questions should contact Richie Jones, 364-8426, or Ann Carver, 364-8478.
