AUBURN – The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department 11th annual spring ice show has been changed from Saturday, March 12, to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Ingersoll Arena. Cost is $3 for age 12 and up.

Ireland is topic

AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston Art and Literature Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the WLU Clubhouse, 19 Elm St. Barbara Randall will present a program on Ireland. Hostesses will be Jean Payne, chairwoman, Shirley Small and Marguerite Powers.

Lenten speaker

AUBURN – Court Street Baptist Church invites the public to attend a Lenten service at noon Tuesday, March 15.

The service will consist of scripture, devotional and special music. Organist is Charles Marshall. Guest pastor will be the Rev. Allison VanderLinden, who recently completed a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

A home-style meal will be served in the vestry after the service. A donation of $4 is asked to cover the food cost. For more information, call Andrea at 784-6661.

VFW meeting

LISBON – The VFW Post 9459 and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at the post home, Route 196. The House Committee will meet at 6 p.m. All members are invited and new members are welcome. The agenda will include continuing support of the troops, discussion of post home repairs and future activities. Anyone wanting more information should call 353-4879 and leave a message.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 8 were: first, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; third, David Lock and Bill Bowman; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Mary Leahey; first in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; second in B, Betty and Doug Sise.

Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on March 9 were: first, John Hackett and Ray Sirois; second/third tie, Martine Begert and Patricia with Katie Love and Don Smith.
