RUMFORD – “Kids and Money” will be discussed in a workshop offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Oxford County from 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday, April 1, at the Rumford Public Library.

“Dealing with issues around money with your children is a tough job,” said Wendy Legg Pollock, Extension educator and leader of the workshop.

“It’s a frustrating topic that comes up over and over again in our workshops on families and parenting. Yet a well-thought out plan for how to handle allowance and other money related issues with kids will greatly reduce the whining, nagging and arguing over spending in a family. It will also likely impact how children manage money throughout their lives,” Pollock said.

Parents and other caregivers of children are invited to attend for a discussion on handling money with children. The workshop is open to the public, free. Registration is required by March 29. Call the Extension Office at 743-6329 or 1-800-287-1482 to register.
