VFW to elect

LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, and Auxiliary will meet at noon Sunday, March 20, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St. All members are encouraged to attend. The agenda will include membership, election of officers and upcoming programs. Eligible veterans wishing to join the VFW are encouraged to attend.

Society speaker

AUBURN – The Androscoggin Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, on the third floor of the Androscoggin County Building.

Kerck Kelsey will discuss “Israel Washburn Jr. and the Birth of the Republican Party.” The meeting is free, open to the public and wheelchair accessible.

Camp event

AUBURN – Modern Woodmen of America’s Auburn Camp 8794 invites members, families and friends to a buffet and a presentation on “Nutrition and Fitness for the Aging” from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Gipper’s Sports Grill, 120 Center St. Cost is $9 a person. Tickets may be purchased at the office at 67 Minot Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For details, people should call 783-8804.
