LEWISTON – Maine Parent Federation and the GEAR Parent Network, a project of Crisis and Counseling Services, announce seven upcoming workshops for parents of children with special needs and providers who work with families.

All workshops will be held at Central Maine Medical Center from 6 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Monday, March 21.

Topics will include an overview of special education, multiple intelligence, advocacy and communication, special education, No Child Left Behind and the re-authorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, preparing for a child’s transition into kindergarten and positive interventions for children with challenging behaviors.
