LEWISTON – The LA Rotary and Classy Lady Boutique joined forces recently for a Casino Royale. Local business men and women gathered at the Ramada Inn to play cards and roll dice for charity. Proceeds were split to benefit the LA Rotary Scholarship Fund and Classy Lady Boutique.

“It was such a riot to see people running around, yelling with excitement and donating their money to charity,” said Kim Brown, Rotary Ways and Means Committee chairwoman. “Casino Royale was a huge success and we are pleased with the response we received. Keep your eyes open for next year because it is sure to be an event not to be missed.”

Classy Lady President Roxanne Salatino Gorham thanked everyone for their generosity. “In addition to Classy Lady president, I am also a member of the LA Rotary. I would like to extend my gratitude to the LA Rotary as well and the many generous people within our community who contributed to this event. Again this year, LA Rotary will be able to give away scholarships and Classy Lady will be able to help women get into the work force.”

The LA Rotary was founded in 1917 and believes in “Service Above Self.” Year after year, the LA Rotary has graciously helped local and national organizations such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Polio Plus Foundation, the Good Shepard Food Bank, Camp Susan Curtis and several others. In addition, they offer (5) $1,000 scholarships to local high school students as they pursue a higher education.

Classy Lady Boutique serves to help women entering or re-entering the work force gain the skills and confidence they need to pursue their desired career, job or special interest. In addition, they provide their clients with gently used clothing at a discounted price.
