PARIS – The Resistance Ministries, a nonprofit youth ministry, will hold a Chinese auction at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Paris Fire Station, Western Avenue. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and tickets will go on sale.

Proceeds will benefit the youth events and projects of the ministry. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Blacksmiths, a music ministry of the Resistance Ministries, with the cost of recording their first professional CD project.

In the last 10 years the Blacksmiths have performed at the Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville, and the Pageant of Peace celebration, an annual Christmas concert series at the White House. Proceeds will also benefit another cross-country Amtrak trip to California.

The auction will feature hundreds of new items, a dollar table and a 50/50 raffle. There will be grab bags, food and drink on sale. In the event of inclement weather, call 743-6982.

LOVELL – There will be an Easter Egg-Citement morning from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Lovell United Church of Christ.

Palm Sunday

PARIS – Shirley S. Miller will be the worship leader for the traditional Palm Sunday service Sunday, March 20, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. The service will begin at 10 a.m. with the organ voluntaries at 9:45. The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. Renee Wales will lead the Sunday school, and child care will be provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

WEST PARIS – A welcome home open house celebration will be held for troops of the 133rd division from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the Agnes Gray School gym. Those honored include Vernon Inman, J.J. Stevens, Shawn Coffin, Randy Jones, Travis Cofran and Buddy Robinson. Elementary students will sing patriotic songs.

Blood drive

Egg hunt

NORWAY – Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center will hold its annual Easter egg hunt from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the center, 29 Marion Ave. Included will be photos with the Easter bunny, giveaways and games with prizes. Easter eggs

WEST PARIS – Toddlers-through-first-grade are invited to the annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at the West Paris Public Library, Main Street. Children should bring a basket for their eggs. It is sponsored by Friends of the Library. Library hours are Mondays and Fridays 1:30 to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays 1:30 to 7 p.m.
