FARMINGTON – Events at Titcomb Mountain, rescheduled to Saturday, March 19, due to the storm on March 12, include the 11th annual Downhill Dummy competition and the Mighty Raffle Drawing.

Anyone may enter the Dummy Downhill competition. Many materials such as wood, plastic, papier mache, Styrofoam can be used to build the dummies, but they have to be a minimum of two feet in height and cannot weigh more than 75 pounds. There is a $5 entry fee.

Activities scheduled for Saturday include the last session of Saturday ski and snowboard school from 10 to 11:15 a.m. with a cookout and awards for the school at noon.

A parade will also be held at noon that will travel from Mallett School parking lot to Titcomb Mountain.

Registration of the dummies will begin at 12:30 followed by judging of the categories of creativity and workmanship.

The competition will begin at 2 p.m. followed by the Mighty Raffle at 3:30. The grand prize is $2,000 and other prizes include a kayak, cross-country ski package, mountain bike, season pass to Titcomb Mountain and others from sponsors in the community. Raffle tickets will be available at Titcomb Mountain until 3 p.m. Saturday.

Following the raffle drawing, the Farmington Ski Club will host an appreciation dinner free for all club volunteers and staff from the 2004-2005 season. The chicken barbecue will be served between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Those who plan to attend should call or sign up at the lodge.
