LISBON FALLS – Lisbon Adult Education has openings in spring courses.

Two gardening classes are offered. “Growing Roses in Maine” will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11. The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association will present “Grow Your Own Organic Garden” from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. Local experts will discuss organic soil management, weed control and pest control.

Learn how to care for sick or injured cats and dogs in an American Red Cross pet first aid class, which will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 31. Participants will receive a first aid kit for pets.

Openings still exist in Introduction to Word, which will start Monday, March 28. The class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. for eight weeks.

Family craft workshops will be offered to celebrate spring holidays. The next class will be a Mother’s Day and May basket workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. A Father’s Day craft workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11. The classes are suitable for children ages 4 through 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Two parenting courses taught by Advocates for Children will be offered. “Good Discipline, Good Kids” will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, and “Keeping Peace at Home” will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14.

A Maine Driving Dynamics class will meet on April 12 and 14 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Students completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.

A hunter safety class will start on April 26. The class will meet for five Tuesdays and Thursdays, ending May 10. The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Students must attend all classes to meet the requirements for a Maine hunting license.

GED testing is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. It is not too late to earn a GED this year and participate in graduation on June 11.
