DIXFIELD – Alexa Kaubris of Rumford, a senior at Dirigo High School, has been selected to receive the 2005 Maine Principal’s Association Principal’s Award.

The award is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Throughout Alexa’s four years at Dirigo High School, she has distinguished herself in the classroom, on the playing field and court and as an active participant and leader in numerous school and community programs and activities,” said Principal Dan Hart. “Alexa very much deserves this recognition.”

Kaubris and Hart will attend an Honors Luncheon on Saturday, April 2, at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor.

The luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler.
