LEWISTON – “Creating Solutions: Conflict Management for Parents of Adolescents,” a four-week series sponsored by the YWCA of Central Maine, will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays starting April 5 at the YWCA, 130 East Ave.

To preregister during the week of March 21 for the free classes, people should call Heather at the YWCA at 795-4050, ext. 120,

The format will provide time for discussion, questions, role-playing and other interactive learning opportunities.

Instructor June Zellers is a mediator and parent educator in the Lewiston-Auburn area. She owns Common Ground Mediation Services, through which she mediates divorce and parenting issues. She teaches the Kids First and the Kids First for Step-Parents programs at several locations in central Maine.

She also served as the coordinator of the Family Mediation Project at the YWCA of Central Maine for a time, where she mediated various parent-teen disputes.

Zellers holds a BA in psychology from the University of Southern Maine and a law degree from the University of Maine School of Law. She practiced law at Skelton, Taintor and Abbott until she opened Common Ground Mediation Services in 1996.

The program is sponsored by the YWCA Intervention Family Mediation Project.
