LOCKE MILLS – A SAD 44 Telstar High School football fund-raising dance, sponsored by the Telstar Football Boosters, will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 9, at the American Legion Hall.

Live music will be provided by The Suspects. Tickets are $10 a person; $16 a couple. All proceeds will benefit the 2005 start-up of Telstar High School football. For additional information, contact Tim O’Connor at 824-0360.

Scrappin’ benefit

LOCKE MILLS – The second annual Scrappin’ for Schools benefit crop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Jackson-Silver Legion Hall.

Demonstrations, scrapping and stamping techniques will be discovered by those attending. Supplies and services will be available. Cost is $30 and it includes lunch. Space is limited, registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Proceeds will benefit the Andover Elementary School, St. Athanasius-St. John School and the Woodstock Elementary School.

ROXBURY – The Slippery Sliders Snowmobile Club will hold its last meeting of the season at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Roxbury fire station.

Financial workshop

DIXFIELD – A 13-week financial workshop will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Dixfield Congregational Church on High Street. The cost is $99 or if 20 couples or more sign up, the cost will be reduced to $75. For more information or to register, call 562-8578.

Lunch and Learn

RUMFORD – SeniorsPlus April Lunch and Learn will be held Thursday, April 14, at the Rumford Dining Center, Congress Street. A presentation at 11 a.m. by Suzanne Plourde of Kindred Healthcare will be on “What is a skilled nursing facility? Can I get short-term rehabilitation there? and Does Medicare pay for this program?”

Dinner will be served at 11:30 a.m. and the menu will include homemade baked beans, hot dog on roll, coleslaw, apple pie and choice of coffee, tea or milk. Cost is $3.50 for those 60 and over, their spouses, people with disabilities and volunteers; $5 for those under 60.
