AVON – The Opportunity Center of North Franklin County, in partnership with the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, will host a FastTrac New Ventures business training program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in four Saturday sessions on April 2, 9, 16 and 30 at the Opportunity Center of North Franklin County.

The course is aimed at helping local people successfully launch and develop their small business ideas. Participants will learn about business planning, marketing, financial management and creating networking connections with local and regional business resources. In the hands-on course, participants will learn who their customers are, what they want and how to reach them.

The course is aimed toward helping aspiring business owners who have an innovative idea for a business or an opportunity to buy a business who want to evaluate and define their business concept, explore and expand their business idea or launch a new business.

Cost is usually $349, but through grants the cost to participate has been reduced to $149 a business. Two participants per business can attend. The fee covers tuition, textbooks, workbooks and refreshments through the sessions.
