NORWAY – Bruce Tracy will teach a hip-hop dance workshop focusing on “popping” and “locking” from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Art Moves Dance Studio, 13 Cottage St. The fee is $10.

The first half of the workshop will be geared to all levels of dancer, while the second half will be more challenging to accommodate those with some experience. Teens and adults are encouraged to take the workshop, led by Tracy, whose home base is Casco Bay Movers Studio in Portland. He is also DJ Thunder at a dance club. Call 743-5569 for more information. The teen Art Moves Dance Group will perform at Oxford Hills Middle School on Career Day, Friday, April 8, and the annual show will be held at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School on Friday, May 6. The next informal studio show and dance party will be May 20 and DJ Thunder will be the guest.

The Art Moves Dance Company recently performed at University of Maine at Presque Isle and Sisters in Rhythm, Inanna, will return July 8 for a joint show with the professional dance company.

Art Moves into the Schools residencies are under way at Waterford, Madison Avenue in Oxford, Agnes Gray in West Paris, Hartford-Sumner Elementary, Auburn Middle School and Gould Academy. Students are encouraged to sign up to perform for the dance showcase in Norway from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 9, on the stage behind the Norway Town Office. E-mail artmoves@megalink.net to sign up.
