FARMINGTON – Literacy Volunteers’ Scrabble Fund-raiser for Literacy will be held from 1 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in Ricker Hall, University of Maine at Farmington.

Registration will start at 12:30 p.m. The event is open to all with a requested table fee and will include prizes and refreshments. All proceeds will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties.

Participants may preregister by calling Literacy Volunteers at 778-3460 or by mailing registration to Literacy Volunteers at 108 Fairbanks Road, Farmington, ME 04938. Preregistration is $6 and $5 for seniors/students. It is a dollar more at the door.

Literacy Volunteers invites everyone to join them April 2 for a game of scrabble. There is a special prize for the rookie who scores the lowest.

All LV tutors are volunteers, but they need help to sustain their ongoing efforts and cover expenses for books, dictionaries, workbooks and other supplies for students. All proceeds from the scrabble games will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties.
