FRYEBURG – The 12th annual silent auction will be held Saturday, April 2, at Fryeburg Academy Gibson Recreational Center. The Fryeburg Academy Project Graduation Committee has been busy collecting donations for its annual fund-raiser.

Jane Dutton, committee coordinator of the Project Graduation, said, “People can arrive at 4 p.m. where they can purchase a book of 10 tickets for $3. They then place the individual tickets in the bag attached to the item they want to bid on. At 6:30 p.m. all bidding will stop and the winning tickets will be drawn. The winners will be able to take their items home.”

Project Graduation will accept donations up to Thursday, March 31. Anyone wishing to donate items or needing more information can contact Jane Dutton at 935-2818, Kathy Lord at 452-2114 or Wendy Davidson at 935-4230.

Grange night

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange will hold its annual Agriculture Night program on Thursday, April 7. The guest lecturer will be Michael Graham, curator of the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Museum, New Gloucester.

Graham will give a talk on the history of the herb industry at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. The West Paris Grange Hall is located on Church Street, just off Main Street in West Paris village.

Scrap benefit

LOCKE MILLS – The second annual Scrappin’ for Schools benefit crop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Jackson-Silver Legion Hall.

Demonstrations, scrapping and stamping techniques will be discovered by those attending. Supplies and services will be available. Cost is $30 and it includes lunch. Space is limited, registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Proceeds will benefit the Andover Elementary School, St. Athanasius-St. John School and the Woodstock Elementary School.

Society program

FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the American Legion Hall, Bradley Street.

The program will be “Maine Minerals and Gems,” presented by jeweler and local business owner Bob Prouty of Maine Gems Jewelry Shop on Main Street. Refreshments will be served. For additional information, contact Director Nancy Ray at 935-4192 or 935-8076.

Indoor yard sale

OXFORD – A giant indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Boxberry School, 301 Webber Brook Rd. Items will include computers, books, clothes, baby items, household and toys. A bake sale will also be held. Proceeds will benefit the Boxberry School.
