NEW YORK (AP) – Tired of pregnancy reports, Britney Spears is lashing out at tabloid magazines.

“Do you, Us Weekly, In Touch, Star and other desperate magazines want employees who are honest, or those who are liars?” Spears writes in a posting on her Web site addressed “Dear False Tabloids.”

Rumors have recently swirled that the 23-year-old pop star is pregnant and that her marriage to Kevin Federline is on the rocks. Spears didn’t specifically address either issue, but instead asked magazines for some self-examination.

“Your employees are a reflection of your magazine,” she writes in her posting. “I’m really concerned about the people you hire to work at your companies.

“I’d like them to ask themselves the question, “What am I lying to myself about?’ Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it that your children aren’t making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you?”

On Thursday, Pamela Anderson told “Access Hollywood” in an interview that she supported Spears.

“I could be suing everybody for misrepresenting or misjudging character,” the actress said. “At the end of the day, hopefully people realize that the tabloids are just awful. They sell magazines based on negative stories about people, I mean no one’s going to buy happy stories.”

Anderson, star of Fox’s upcoming sitcom “Stacked,” said she won’t allow any tabloid magazines in her presence. “I just said, “Look, I don’t want any of that stuff around me.”‘

In February, Spears lamented Us Weekly’s decision to publish pictures of her and Federline taken by employees at a Fiji islands hotel during the couple’s October honeymoon.

But Us Weekly didn’t back down. The magazine issued a statement saying, “Britney Spears should start a magazine if she’d like to dictate her own coverage.”

In her posting, Spears added: “P.S. People Magazine is great in my book!”

Jane Fonda, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of a prostitute in the 1971 film “Klute,” solicited call girls for three-way sex with her husband Roger Vadim, the actress revealed in an interview to be broadcast Sunday on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

Speaking about her upcoming autobiography “Jane Fonda: My Life So Far,” Fonda also described her visit to a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun site during the Vietnam war as one of the biggest mistakes of her life.

Fonda said she indulged Vadim’s sexual proclivities, despite the personal pain it caused her.

“One night Vadim brought another woman into my bed and I went along with it. … I’m competitive. … I was going to keep up with the Joneses,” Fonda said.

“It was the “60s and whatever,” she said, adding that she was largely motivated by the fear of losing her French director husband if she refused to go along with his three-in-a-bed romps.

“I know one thing: It really hurt me,” she said. “And it reinforced my feeling I wasn’t good enough. I felt that if I said no, that he would leave me and I couldn’t imagine myself without him.”

One of Hollywood’s hottest couples at the the time, Fonda and Vadim divorced in 1973 after six years of marriage.

Fonda said the women who made up their menage a trois were generally call girls that she herself would procure.

“Hey, if that’s what he wanted, I’d give it to him in spades,” she said, adding that she used what she learned from the women for her role in “Klute.”

Fonda said the need for honesty and integrity spurred her into writing about such private matters in her autobiography, which will be published in the United States next month.

Addressing her notorious visit to North Vietnam in 1972 – which earned her the epithet “Hanoi Jane” – Fonda insisted she had no regrets, apart from one moment when she posed with an anti-aircraft battery used to shoot down U.S. pilots.

“The image of Jane Fonda, Barbarella, Henry Fonda’s daughter … sitting on an enemy aircraft gun was a betrayal … the largest lapse of judgment that I can even imagine,” Fonda said.

FOOLED AGAIN

For the third year in a row, singer Michael Jackson was named America’s Most Foolish Individual for 2005, according to a telephone survey of 1,030 individuals by New York-based public relations consultant Jeff Barge.

“It’s getting hard to envision an America in which Michael Jackson isn’t the most foolish individual,” Barge says. “Short of a lesbian wedding ceremony for Paris Hilton, it’s hard to imagine who could possibly push him out of the No. 1 spot.”

Coming in second was convicted murderer Scott Peterson, with Martha Stewart, recently released from federal prison and now confined to home arrest wearing an ankle bracelet to track her movements, coming in third.

Rounding out the Top 10 are Paris Hilton, President Bush, Janet Jackson, Robert Blake, Dan Rather, Ashlee Simpson and Mark McGwire.

OSBOURNES FLEE FIRE

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had to flee their English country mansion last week after a fire broke out in the living room, reports Billboard Online.

The couple were alerted by a fire alarm and ran into their backyard when the blaze broke out late March 25 at their house in Buckinghamshire county, northwest of London.

A spokeswoman for Buckinghamshire Fire Service confirmed that two fire engines had been sent to a blaze at a house in the area. Two men and a woman were treated for minor smoke inhalation, she said.

Fire officials were investigating the cause of the blaze.

The fire was the latest in a series of domestic mishaps to befall the former Black Sabbath frontman and his manager-wife.

Last November, Ozzy unsuccessfully tackled a thief as he raided the house and stole a large amount of jewelry. And in December 2003, he was in a coma for eight days after a quadbike accident on the grounds of the home.

SHOOTING THE BREEZE

“Sex and the City” star Jason Lewis – the dude who played Kim Cattrall’s hunky boy toy Smith Jerrod – was partying it up at Casa Casuarina in Miami Beach on Tuesday night to celebrate the Carlyle Hotel’s conversion into multimillion dollar condos.

“I love Miami – I have been coming down here over the last 12 years,” Lewis, 33, told The Miami Herald. He said he just flew in from attending the world premiere of “Sin City” with girlfriend Rosario Dawson, who stars in the action flick with Mickey Rourke.

“I love Puerto Rican women,” Lewis said of Dawson, whom he has been seeing for a year. He swore the relationship is strong, and laughed when told of rumors that she was seeing actor Vin Diesel on the sly.

“That’s the wildest tale I’ve heard,” said Lewis, who is slated to play a superhero in an upcoming John Woo film, aptly titled “He-Man.”
