FARMINGTON – Two local volunteer blanket-makers, Cathy Palmer and Arlene Thibeau, recently donated 15 handmade quilts and afghans to Franklin Memorial Hospital as part of Project Linus, an organization whose mission is to provide a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are ill, traumatized or in need through gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans.

Inspired by the familiar Peanuts character, Project Linus believes that every child has the right to feel secure in the world. Recipients include hospitals, clinics, homeless shelters and other settings where children from birth to age 17 are impacted by the comfort and love a “made from the heart” blanket provides.
