CONWAY, N.H. (AP) – Authorities were trying to determine the cause of a fire that damaged a 300-seat movie theater and prompted the evacuation of 200 people Friday evening.
No one was injured and the fire was brought under control around 7 p.m., about two hours after it started above the ceiling of the Majestic Theater. The building is one of the oldest in Conway.
Larry Wade, chief of the Conway Fire Department, said the building was not badly damaged and likely could be saved.
