MANSFIELD, Conn. – Senior Mo Deegan scored five goals and passed out six assists as the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors pulled away from the University of Southern Maine to post a 21-5 victory in the Little East Conference women’s lacrosse opener for both teams Sunday.

The win was the third straight for the surging Warriors who improved to 3-4 overall. Southern Maine dropped its fourth straight since a season-opening win.

The Huskies stayed close to the Warriors through the first 20 minutes of play, trailing 6-4 with 9:56 to go after senior Emily Kirkland scored. The Warriors proceeded to score the next eight goals to take a 14-4 lead at the break.
