FARMINGTON – The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association will teach an organic gardening class from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. The workshop is open to public and to all skill and experience levels. Contact the Farmington Adult Learning Center to register at 778-3460. A fee of $5 will be collected at door to cover handouts.

Awareness day

FARMINGTON – The Rehab Club at the University of Maine at Farmington will hold its annual Awareness Day from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the Olsen Student Center. This year’s theme is “What is Rehab?”

There will be speakers throughout the day from outside organizations along with student speakers. There will also be informational tables throughout the hall. Some organizations include New Horizons, Alpha-One, Speaking Up for Us and Jeremiah Cromwell Disabilities Center.

Keynote speaker will be Travis Roy, who in his first ice hockey game at Boston University in 1995, was paralyzed. He will speak from 1:30 from 2:20 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Monthly lunch

FARMINGTON – Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9. The menu will include American chop suey, coleslaw, rolls and butter and ice cream.

Delivery service will be available in Farmington for those unable to attend. Call the church office during the week, 778-0424, option 4 on the menu, or the church kitchen on the morning of the luncheon, 778-4438. Leave name, address and directions, phone number and the number of meals.

Booths available

STARKS – Camp at the Eastward is inviting the public to participate in its Family Fun Day crafts and community sessions at 10 a.m. June 18 at Camp at the Eastward. Booth space is available at $10 a space/$20 if they provide the table, plus one item donated to the auction. Nonprofit groups are invited to participate free, providing they have a hands-on activity or demonstration.
