LITCHFIELD – The newly formed Central Maine Writers’ Network held its first meeting on March 22 and welcomed new members.

The group meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Litchfield Sportsmen’s Club, 2291 Hallowell Road. The first half hour of each meeting is a social time allowing members to mingle, followed by readings and open discussion of members’ writings.

Membership is free and is not limited to published authors. The group is open to anyone with a serious interest in writing, whether for publication or for personal use. For information, call Lynn Ross at 268-4687.

Ross’s publishing experience includes six years with book publisher, eight as magazine editor and nine as a freelance writer.

“I particularly enjoy working with new writers,” she said. “Watching them grow is emotionally rewarding, and when they succeed, I think I’m more excited than they are.”
