LEWISTON – The 14th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids’ Sake fund-raiser in Androscoggin County will be held at Spare-Time Recreation on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10, for those who enjoy the big balls and at the Auburn Lanes in Auburn on Sunday, April 10, for candle pin fans.

This is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Bowl For Kids’ Sake is an event in which sponsors and bowlers raise funds needed to match local children with a Big Brother or Big Sister in area towns.

Big Brothers Big Sisters encourages anyone interested in helping to make a difference in the life of a child to organize, join or sponsor a bowling team. To form a team gather four people who would like to bowl and raise advance contributions from family, friends, co-workers and employers. The proceeds will help provide hundreds of annual Big Brother Big Sister mentoring matches.

The event will feature prizes and awards for bowling team participants, including a grand prize drawing. For every $100 a bowlers raises they will have the opportunity to enter the grand prize drawing and become eligible to win a 42-inch plasma TV.

To participate, contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at 782-5437 or 743-7035 and ask for Pam Murphy, director of youth development, or e-mail bbbs@megalink.net. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Androscoggin County is a program of the Child Health Center.
