LEWISTON – Eight new members joined the Lewiston Lodge of Elks 371 during a ceremony held at the Lisbon Street lodge on March 28. Presiding over the 45-minute ceremony was Exalted Ruler Robbie Gagne of Lewiston.

Initiated into the order were Cheryl Pelletier, Beatrice Hebert, Linda Picard, Ray Desmarais, Paul Labbe, Jason Jordan, Rodney Plourde and Raymond Keil. During the evening, the new members were welcomed at a dinner and a presentation on the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and its programs.

The order is a fraternal organization made up of nearly 1.1 million men and women from across the United States. The organization provides service to local communities through programs that support the nation’s youth and its veterans.
