WALES – Webster Lodge 164 will hold a special communication on Thursday, April 14, to work the Master Mason Degree on one candidate. A 6:30 p.m. supper will precede the 7:30 meeting. Members and visiting Master Masons are invited to attend the meeting at 322 Centre Road.

Emblem meeting

LEWISTON – The Emblem Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Lewiston Lodge of Elks on Lisbon Road. The Emblem Club is affiliated with the Elks and is dedicated to serving the community. For more information, contact Jackie Asselin, president, at 777-1854 or Sonia Woodrum at 375-8839.

Open house

AUBURN – Danville Junction Grange 65 will hold its annual open house on Thursday, April 14. Dessert will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a program at 7.

Featured will be Norma Rice Gould, organist at the United Methodist Church of Auburn and a well known performer throughout the area. Accompanying her will be Donald Nason playing the saxophone.

State Grange Master Steven Verrill will be present to award membership certificates to several long-time members of the Grange. A Community Service Award and an Appreciation Award will also be presented.

Everyone in the community is invited to join for an evening of music, awards, skits and other entertainment.

Pageant winner

LEWISTON – Madelyne Regner-Gaiewski of Lewiston won the ages 3 and 4 division of the annual SunBurst Central Maine Beauty Pageant and Model Search held at the Lewiston Mall.

She also won optional categories: prettiest smile, prettiest eyes, best personality, and most photogenic. She will represent the Central Maine Region at the SunBurst New England State Finals in May in Portsmouth, N.H.

Seniors dinner

AUBURN – The New Auburn Senior Citizens will serve a ham dinner at noon Wednesday, April 20, at the St. Louis Church basement hall for members only at a cost of $3. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

The regular meeting was held Wednesday with President Virginia Levasseur presiding. A moment of silence was held for two members who died last month: Jeanne Lamontagne and Hubert Nadeau. Birthdays for April were noted and token gifts were given. Plans are in the works for a craft display from members in June. More details will be provided at the May meeting

A sign-up sheet was available for anyone interested in going to Julien’s for lunch on Monday, April 18. If interested, call Ginger at 783-0273. New members welcomed were Priscilla Bazinet, Antoinette Pelletier, Albert Sylvain, Helen Sylvain and Conrad St. Onge.

Pot of gold winners were Jeannette Lafrance, Marge Lizotte, Louis Cormier and Simone Reynolds.

The meeting adjourned, a light lunch was served and bingo followed.

Open bingo for seniors 60 and over will be held Wednesdays, April 13 and 27.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, May 4.
