NORWAY – Western Maine Health will sponsor a free seminar on Alzheimer’s disease presented by the medical, nursing, social services and activity directors at Market Square Health Care Center at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Building, 193 Main St.

James Eshleman, D.O., a geriatrician who specializes in the care of the elderly, and staff members from Market Square Health Care Center including Sheila Belle-Isle, nursing director; Marianne Gallo, social services director; and Lynne Whitney, activities director; will present and advise on how to recognize, treat and seek medical, financial, and resource assistance when encountering the disease in a loved one.

Election slated

WEST PARIS – The annual meeting of the Finnish Cemetery Association will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Mission Congregational Church on Church Street. Reports will be given and election of officers will be held.

Flower show

FRYEBURG – The fourth annual Home, Garden and Flower Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds.

The show, endorsed by the New Hampshire Landscape Association and the Maine Landscape and Nurserymens Association, is offering numerous events including Meet the Chefs, hosted by Jack Ford, a professional food show emcee; The Bridal Show, coordinated by bridal consultant and award-winning floral designer Janet Black of Designs in Bethel; the Garden Guru by Paul Parent, broadcaster, and The Paul Parent Garden Show, live from the fairgrounds.

There will also be a special May Day celebration complete with a craft session to make May baskets and a maypole dance for children of all ages. Exhibitor space is available for businesses, artisans and crafts people whose product lines are related to the home and garden.
