LEWISTON – Easter 2005 at First Assembly of God Church, Hogan Road, was a special season. It started on Palm Sunday evening with the presentation of the “Living Last Supper,” which depicted the final Passover supper Jesus ate with his disciples before his death and resurrection.

It was an evening of drama as well as music. Those depicting the 12 disciples and the Lord were men from the congregation. The drama was interspersed by musical selections.

On Good Friday the Evangelical Pastors Prayer Fellowship of Lewiston-Auburn and their congregations gathered at First Assembly to commemorate the crucifixion of Christ. Many of the churches participated, with several pastors delivering short messages on the meaning of the cross, with members of their congregations sharing special music.

Easter Sunday started at 6 a.m. in the church parking lot with 35 attending the annual sunrise service. Many of those present shared their favorite scripture concerning the resurrection or told what it meant to them.

The church’s 40-voice choir and the drama team presented the musical, “Lord, I Believe,” at the 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. services, with the number from both services totaling more than 600 adults, with an additional 100 children present.
