RUMFORD – The Planning Committee for the Waite Family Benefit met at the Black Mountain Lodge to review ideas for the Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Black Mountain.

Special activities will be offered such as games, a moon walk, hot dog and hamburger sales, bake sale and children’s Chinese auction. There will be performances by Charlie Who, the Off and Running Band, Wing Nuts and others. There will also be an all-day Chinese auction for all ages.

A live auction will begin at 5 p.m. with Lee Goldberg of WCSH Channel 6 Sports News as auctioneer when many items will go up for bid. After the auction the E&I Band will play for the adults-only dance. Tickets for the dance will be by advance sale only.

All proceeds will benefit the Waite Family Fund. Greg Waite is an area educator, coach and community activist. He has taught school for 27 years, coaches soccer, skiing and softball. He is a member of the ski patrol at Black Mountain. He also serves on the GRCC and Black Mountain board of directors.

Donations may also be made at Oxford Federal Credit Union to the Greg Waite benefit.
