WILTON – The Healthy Community Coalition will celebrate the launching of The Community Connector from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Boiler Room Restaurant.

The celebration will be held in conjunction with a community meeting to pursue next steps in the Community Health Visioning process, and develop specific community projects and timelines that relate to the visioning priorities. RSVP to Lisa Laflin at 645-3136 extension 5103 or llaflin@fchn.org.

Residents of greater Franklin County may have often wished that there was just one place to go to for information when help is needed, when they are looking for local town government contacts, wonder what snowmobile club or women’s group may be in the area or they want to volunteer in their community.

In response to this community feedback, the Healthy Community Coalition and The Franklin Resource Network have created The Community Connector.

Reached on the web at www.TheCommunityConnector.org, this website is an invaluable resource for health and social service information in Greater Franklin County. The Community Connector includes references to hundreds of health and social service organizations and agencies. It also lists area volunteer opportunities and contains a comprehensive list of associations such as ATV clubs and women’s groups in the region.

To keep the information current and useful, there is ample opportunity for feedback as well. Visitors to the site can click on tabs that say Frequently Asked Questions, Add/Update a Listing, or Give Us Your Feedback.
