HALLOWELL – Maine Alliance for Arts Education will host the first Maine Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Extravaganza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Slates.

There will be a variety of Maine-produced wines, cheeses and chocolates to support arts education throughout the state.

Local children’s artwork and music will be showcased.

First lady Karen Baldacci is honorary chairwoman of the alliance.

The showcase for Maine products is being organized in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, the Maine Cheese Guild, Maine chocolatiers and Maine wineries.

This event is to raise money for the Maine Alliance for Arts Education, whose mission is to encourage and strengthen educational excellence in visual art, music, theatre, dance, and writing in all Maine schools and communities.
