JAY – A surprise party was held recently for Kenneth and Barbara White of Jay on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was planned by their children and spouses, Brian and Deirdre White and Steve and Pam Green and was held at Eli’s in Turner.

The couple was surprised with a limousine ride to the party. Immediate family members attended the event, including Donald Clifford, Fred Elliot, Tammy Bowden and Jen White.

Mr. White and the former Barbara Coolidge were married on March 17, 1945, in Livermore Falls by the Rev Shoff. They have several grandchildren, Shelley Green Drayton, Christopher White, Ryan Green, Kim Folsom and Vonda Folsom. They also have several great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Madison Green, Keegan Drayton, Morgan and Bennett White, Brandon Shink and Justin Folsom.

Mrs. White is a housewife and attends the Jay Baptist Church. Mr. White retired from the Maine Department of Transportation, where he was employed for 43 years. He is also attends the Jay Baptist Church.

Original wedding attendant present was Ethlyn White Clifford, maid of honor.
