ORONO – Seabren Reeves, treasurer of the UMF College Republicans, has announced that the UMF College Republicans received the Most Improved Chapter Award presented by Maine College Republican State Chairman Dan Schuberth on April 9 at the 2005 College Republican State Convention.

“We are deeply honored to have been recognized as the most improved chapter out of all 23 College Republican chapters in the State of Maine,” UMF College Republican Chairman Shawn Roderick said.

“According to CNN exit polling, Maine was one of only two states where the popular vote went for Sen. Kerry, but the youth demographic (18-29 year olds) supported President Bush. It was the hard work and dedication of the UMF chapter members and the chapter members across the state that helped turn out Maine’s youth support for President Bush.”

During the convention, Roderick was also elected as the 2005-2006 state vice chairman of the Maine College Republicans.
