CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society celebrated 10 years of service to the community recently. Florence and Hurchial Noyes were formally thanked for their 10 years of dedication to the society.
Residents who were born, lived and continue to live in town were honored. They are Elijah White, who has lived in town 70 years; Kermit Houghton, 73 years; Hurchial Noyes, 75 years; Emeral Houghton, 77 years; and Dorothy Mason, 81 years.
The next meeeting will start with a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at the historical society building. The program will be presented by Robert Keith and is titled “The Beginnings of Carthage as Recorded in Daniel Storer’s Day Book.”
